Ten Commandments (Decalogue) are the foundational covenant laws given by YHWH to Moses at Sinai (Exod 20:1-17; Deut 5:6-21). They govern Israel’s relationship to YHWH and to fellow humans. Written on two stone tablets (Exod 31:18), they were placed in the Ark of the Covenant.
