Naphtali is the sixth son of Jacob, born to Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid. Jacob’s blessing describes him as “a doe set free that bears beautiful fawns” (Gen 49:21). He became ancestor of the tribe of Naphtali in northern Galilee.
