Mesopotamia (Hebrew: Aram Naharaim, “Aram of two rivers”) is the region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in modern Iraq/Syria. Abraham came from Ur in Mesopotamia (Acts 7:2), and Jacob fled to Paddan-aram in the same region (Gen 28).
